I’ve been mulling over this post for most of the week, something did not feel right. Thankfully my intuition guided me where I needed to go. The use of the word ‘Law’ does not sit well with me in this post. We are taught from a very young age that if we break the law we will be punished, so it has a fear based element associated with it, which does not apply in this instance.
We will not be punished if we do not follow any of these laws, but our life will probably be far more difficult, which some might consider punishment, I consider it learning, part of our growth. So I am replacing the word ‘Law’ with ‘Principle’. It makes more sense to me, and sounds and feels better.
I’d love to read your thoughts on this, so please share them bellow…
A few years ago the Law of Attraction made into mainstream thinking through the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and since then there have been plenty of books, DVD’s, & courses, all claiming they will change our life through the use of this Law. I believe in this Law, but I have not had much success with it, and the main reason is lack of consistency. Our mind is like any other organ in our body, feed it correctly, exercise it often and it will respond positively.
When we train for sport, or for general physical health, we can see the results of our training. It’s not that obvious with the mind, and it can take longer, because we have the cunning subconscious always interfering. That quiet little voice in the back of our minds that has been programmed from the day we were born. There are many tools around that we can use to change the narrative of this little voice, and it is up to us to find the tool that works best, and then be consistent in using this tool.
A word of warning. The Law does not understand our language, it works with vibration, frequency and energy. so if we focus on what we don’t want, that’s what we will get. We should focus on the opposite of what we don’t want, and try and imagine how we would feel receiving it, get excited.
I have also recently found out that there are a lot of other Laws, which might explain why we struggle with the Law of Attraction. One can’t only understand one Law and neglect all the others. I’m not saying we need to use all these Law’s at once, but we do need to understand them, and sometimes use one or two in conjunction with the Law of Attraction for it to work correctly. Below is a list of these Laws. I will be delving into each one in the near future. (The first seven are highlighted as they form the basis of Hermetic Philosophy.)
- Principle of Mentalism.
- Principle of Correspondence.
- Principle of Vibration.
- Principle of Polarity.
- Principle of Rhythm.
- Principle of Cause and Effect.
- Principle of Gender.
- Principle of Divine Oneness.
- Principle of Action.
- Principle of Compensation.
- Principle of Attraction.
- Principle of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy.
- Principle of Relativity.
- Principle of Substitution.
- Principle of Non-Resistance.
- Principle of Forgiveness.
